Surinder Kaur(November 25,1925- june15,2006)was
an Indian Singer and Songwriter.She sang mainly Punjabi Folk
songs, where she is credited for pioneering and popular the genre
and later was known as the "Nightingle of Punjab".She also sang
some Hindi moive songs,between 1948-1952.A 2006 doordarshan
documentary titled,Punjab Di Koyal(Nightingale),on the life and works
of Surinder Kaur, received the Doordarshan National Awards.....
